  • Ecosurety - £2,360 donated

“We’re delighted to support the work of Bristol Local Food Fund as they address food justice and nutrition in Bristol, helping to create a healthier and more equitable community. We hope the money we’ve raised can help tackle food insecurity in Bristol and allow more people to access food that is grown, produced, sold, and consumed in ways that care for both people and the environment.”

Steph Housty, Head of Marketing & Sustainability

  • Mechanical Mouse - £750 donated

"We are a small business based in Bristol, but we have clients all over the world. In the past few years instead of delivering hampers to clients for Christmas we have made charitable donations. This fits in with our goals to become more sustainable, but also supports our ethical values as a company. When we heard about the fantastic work being carried out by the Bristol Local Food Fund at a time when so many are facing financial hardship and food insecurity, it was immediately a charity we wanted to support."

    Laura Churchill, Production Manager

  • NFU Mutual, N Somerset & Chew Valley - £6,509 donated

“North Somerset & Chew Valley’s NFU Mutual Agency have a long history in providing a local, personal service for individuals and businesses. As part of our mission, we actively seek to engage and financially support charities and initiatives that benefit the communities we work in. BLFF were introduced to us by one of our own clients as an organisation doing tremendous work for underprivileged families in and around Bristol, and we were only too happy to offer our support as well.”

Joel Hawkins, Partner, NFU Mutual North Somerset & Chew Valley

  • Burges Salmon - £10,000 donated

Independent UK law firm Burges Salmon prides itself on being a pillar of the community with the firm working as a collective with its people, clients and communities to deliver high social value impact. In Bristol, the firm supports over 50 charities and community groups, providing financial contributions, pro-bono advice, volunteering and in-kind support.

Jamie Cameron, Director and Head of Community Engagement at Burges Salmon, says: “We were initially attracted to support the Bristol Local Food Fund because of the collaboration with key community partners and the innovative approach of creating a Citizen’s Panel - involving people with lived experience of food insecurity, in the distribution of funds. We have really enjoyed partnering with the Bristol Local Food Fund over the last few years and were pleased to provide an initial donation of £10,000 to kickstart the first appeal, which resulted in over £60,000 being raised and awarded by the Citizen’s Panel to 18 different community food projects.  We have continued to support the Fund by providing meeting rooms for the Citizen’s Panel and supporting the high-profile Anti-Banquet event last February which raised £100,000.”
